Children Helping Children — Book Drive 2026
Surina (14) and Keisha (12) are calling on young people everywhere to help fill the shelves of rural school libraries in Kathonzweni, Makueni County. Drop off your children's books
…One book becomes a favourite. A favourite becomes a reader.
Surina and Keisha started with one school. Each completed library is a community that no longer has to choose which child gets to read.
Where they go
The books we collect go to children, schools and communities where reading materials are hard to find.
Our goal is not to deliver boxes. We want the books to land somewhere they will be read, shared, enjoyed and used again and again.
So every collection is really about something bigger: making places where children can get lost in a story, get better at reading, and keep reading for the rest of their lives.
What changes
The impact of a book is hard to put in numbers. A book can teach a child a new word, show them another world, explain an idea, or simply be a good afternoon.
What we are trying to do:
As we grow we will share the numbers — books collected, children reached, schools supported, libraries built or made stronger — and, most of all, the stories of the children who read them.
Live data from the platform — updated in real time.
Notes from the road — what we saw, who we met, what happened next.

…Two sisters started this. It grows with everyone who joins in.
